A major internal communications project involving branding, display systems, intranet, posters and clothing.
The initial introduction of Southern Water's new enterprise software had not achieved its goals. So the second phase - the Business Application Suite - had to work even harder to bring about fundamental changes to many of Southern Water employees' working practices. This meant ensuring 1,200 staff in five locations felt reassured, prepared for, and comfortable with, a new system of working.
We developed a 'mascot' for the Business Application Software campaign. 'Bas' the frog became the reassuring constant in intranet communications, training sessions and field visits. Through Bas we communicated a wide range of messages to staff in a more accessible, friendly way - from day one right through to training and implementation.
Turning the initial adoption rate and staff response around, we helped launch the enterprise software and achieve an adoption rate of 100%. Bas remains a project spokesperson for updates and add-ons to the software, and the campaign has been nominated for an effective internal communications award.
